About Yami’s Yummy Tamales

I am a proud Mexican American woman whose tamal-making journey began out of necessity—just trying to find a way to help pay bills. My husband had ACL repair surgery in July and has been out of work for months, so together we decided to start making and selling tamales to get by. What we thought would be something small quickly became something beautiful and unexpected, as more and more people began booking us. Our recipe is a gift passed down from my grandma, then to my mom, and now to me—three generations of love, tradition, and strength in every bite. My husband, even through his recovery, has stood beside me, helping prep and make each tamal with so much dedication. This year, I graduated Nursing School with my BSN in May, and now I’m blessed to say we have our own LLC—proof that even in hard times, family, love, and tradition can build something bigger than we ever imagined.
